OOLS Limited Edition Salt Vans
Exciting times . . . Now the new club salt wagons have been delivered its decision time again.
In the original post Jack suggested that from the order of 100 we keep 25 wagon for use on the Roadshow leaving 75 wagons to be sold to club members an idea supported by all.
However . . .
Proposal 1
Nick reports the delivery is actually 103 wagons.
We have also voted to buy Dave’s coal wagons and he indicated that the 23 wagons are the same length as the eight coach trains that the Roadshow is designed for and as a coal wagon
On that basis it might be more logical to use the same numbers for the OOLS salt vans and keep 23 for use on the Roadshow. This will leave 80 for sale to club members, five more that the 75 used in Jack’s profit calculations, a definite bonus for the bank account!
Proposal 2
I would also like to propose that we present OOLS Limited Edition number 001 to Richard. As he is less able to attend shows these days I am sure he would be pleased to see how the club continues to make progress with new ideas.
If this proposal is accepted this will leave 22 wagons for use on the Roadshow . . . but . . . a rake of wagons of that era will most definitely need a brake van at the back of it . . . but luckily we may have a readymade solution at hand.
Proposal 3
Some of you may remember that way back in 2018 at the Weymouth show Nick debuted what was then his latest creation, a brake van that very cleverly also doubled up as a track cleaner.
This was created from a KFP Zeller OO track cleaning wagon cleverly married to a Bachmann GWR Toad brake van body.

It is also unique in having been heavily weathered and, most importantly, branded OOLS, making it a perfect addition to bring up the rear of the new OOLS club salt wagon train.

For the benefit of the club Nick (maybe under a little pressure) has kindly agreed to part with his creation for the princely sum of £30, a great bargain for the club as it less than the current selling price of the standalone KFP Zeller track cleaning chassis.
It will both be a perfect match for the new train and also help with keeping the track a little cleaner so I propose the club purchase this unique item for regular use with the Roadshow.
Please vote on the following proposals
Proposal 1 - the club retain 22 wagons for promotional use on the roadshow
Proposal 2 - the club present the first – LEW 001to Richard Hallam
Proposal 3 - the club purchase the OOLS branded brake van from Nick
Please vote clearly ‘For’ or ‘Against’ for each proposal

Nick has been paid for the brake van. A very nice addition for the club.
