Club shop report November 2023
An excellent month for the club and shop with brisk trading and a swift flourish at the end with the Warley show bringing in the last few bags of live steam gold!!!
We grossed £1514.30 for the month including a Silverlink loco and controllers sale at Warley by Nigel of £570 in total!! After postage and fees we deposited £1471.10 to the bank.
We also had a brilliant presentation at Warley to both Richard Hallam and Hornby for Efforts all round in bringing the OO Live Steam phenomenon to us all 20 years ago. Plaques and hand shakes all round and we got to see Richard all pimped out in a dapper shirt, tie and jacket for the occasion. Splendid memory for us all!!!
I gave the DCP Micro cage a rattle to see what the state of play is with the long awaited Live drive order and i got a swift response from David to say we have some kits coming through this week of 40 units with 30 more in the stock hold as the components are still proving hard to find. Apparently the resistors are proving the worst component as higher power electronics are now giving way to low power digital components so stockists are not interested in the older legacy components like what we have got in our live drive kits. He said he may have to redesign the kit at some point as needs must.
As I type this a package has just arrived from Sunny Glossop containing 40 x Double A4 chimneys, 26 x Single A4 chimneys and 30 x A3 chimneys so we should be ok for those for some time.
One more month to go and then its a wrap for 2023 which has been a bit of an 'Annus Horriblis' for the club in some respects. AGM will be set for early January and we can at last resume normal club operation.
Reports in the usual places.
Nick
