Club shop report October 2024
Well peeps ,, the times rolls on and we are now into the darker mornings and even darker evenings and im still awaiting the rush to the shop door of all those hungry little live steamers who need stuff to run thier trains. Im sure there out there,,,,somwhere,,,, ill just have to wait patiently i guess.. !! At least my mug shot made it into the financial press for some reason,,,,,uncle Maurice would have been proud im sure!!
So, eyes down!!,,,, the shop just about, ticked over nicely for October with a modest turnover of £397.59. After postage and fees, £342.27 was deposited at the bank. Not a huge amount but it will cover the cost of any out goings we may have,,
,,,and talking of which, a little bird tells me we have some ‘engineering’ on the way to me for the shop so watch this space.
We have two months until the end of the current financial year so i want to get a handle on the perceived value of our hornby spares haul. Some bits have already sold off or gone into repairing others locos so the value to us is greater than we might have thought.
My surgury is likely to happen in the new year so i may not be around for the early spring shows,, we will have to see. Hopefully ill be fit for the Bluebell onwards. The AGM will be here in no time and that gives us plenty of time to sharpen our swords and Axes,,,,oh yes ,, we dont do that sort of thing anymore do we!! Ha ha!!
Yes, We have a very pleasant and cordial scociety and may it remain that way for a long time. Both Hornby and ourselves have seen changes over the last year or two,, mainly adjustments to the ‘top knot’ and it has proved good for both of us. My favourite saying comes to mind,,’ just keep smiling at the nice people and taking their money’!!
