Club shop report December 2022
As i pen this, the new year is hear and the sun is shinning brightly, so maybe this is a good sign of a better year for us all!
Well, i can only hope Eh!!!!
December is usually a modest month shop wise and this time was no exception. Turn over was a reasonable £557.75 and added to this was £357.00 for the last few DCC loco sales and some track work from Maurices collection.
After fees and postage etc a total of £824.96 was sent to the bank.
As we go into the new year I will be looking at placing a new order with AC Models for a boost to our Hornby Spares collection so we have continuance of loco maintenance in that area where needed.
On the subject of maintenance, I have some thoughts.
Chris Oakes and Eric Fenwick (yes Full names appropriate here) are working absolutely flat out to try and keep up with maintenance and servicing of Club Locos, Bought in Locos for Sale, Committee members Locos, Customers Locos, (and their own collections when they get the slightest chance).
Remember there was 4 people doing this work and now it falls to the only 2 people who can actually do the work required to bring these locos back into steam.
This is an absolute ‘gift‘ to be able to carry out this work, and whereas Hornby would just swap out parts until a loco appeared to work ok, these 2 guys are considered by me as Club Steam Gurus, no,, Geniuses!!!!
This is a culmination of many years of learning skills and knowledge and cannot just be picked up by any old body.
Apart from running the beating heart of the club, these chaps donate hours and hours to the succsess of the club and the future of OO Live Steam. Hats off all round guys, And may you have the Will and determination to take OO Live Steam forward for many more years to come!!

Thanks adrian, as a committee we have a wealth of skill, knowledge and expertise, I just think it’s nice to remember that from time to time. Here’s to us all!!!
