Club shop report January 2021
So,,,,,,, we just get over the madness that is December 2020 and one of our finest months for sales and we end up in lockdown again for the foreseeable!! One good thing there,,,, folk at home play with trains and need spare parts... well so the figures would suggest.
Our gross takings for the month was £936.50 which comprised of £786.50 shop sales and a £150 deposit for a limited edition loco. Deposits to the bank after fees and adjustments was £841.84.
Our new producer of brassware David Frith of Bedford has come up trumps and we had delivered a hefty quantity of 20 more Tool sets, 30 Tender Plugs, 30 Air-hose adaptors and 30 Pressure Gauge adaptors which arrived in early Feb.
Whilst we have ample OOLSC stocks, the Hornby catalogue of parts is shrinking and future sources are faint if non existent so it remains for me to say please look after your locos and refurb parts where you can, most of our Hornby stock has reached contingency levels and so i have put much of the items “out of stock”. If you have a desperate need of a part and you cannot see it in the shop, just message me and i’ll let you know the situation.
Hoorahhh,,,,ACModels have repaired their webpage at last,,,, but to many it would appear still broken as they are offering only 8 live steam parts and at eye watering prices!
To stop us being wiped out of the same, I have had to match their prices for the time being, and there is a consensus that we may have to withdraw all our Hornby parts to allow some kind of servicing regimen to commence at some point.
Ahhh it will be like the good old days!!!! Just bread and water!!! ( well,,, seals and water!!)
While all this may seem doom and gloom for the present, it will bring to a stop all those incessant ‘spares and repairs’ reconstitutors ( is that even a word??) that seem content to wipe all the Hornby spares out.
Sit tight lads,, the road ahead my get a little bumpy!!!
Sales Reports in the usual place!!
