Just spent a great day out on the Severn Valley Railway using the ‘Freedom of the line’ ticket issued to us at the May event. Worth £38 today.
I was not disappointed after a hearty full English in the Kidderminster refreshment room it was time ride behind all the locos running, on and off various rolling stock and visiting all stations en route which all offer something different.
Lunch at Highley and Afternoon tea at Bewdley!!! What could be more English on a celebratory weekend.
Make sure to use your ticket before it’s expiry and have a great day out too!
The new Elizabeth 2 ( Taw valley) in Royal Lilac was terrific and definitely appeals to many. Just on the last trip of the day back to Kidderminster at 18.52pm to enjoy a nice cup of tea before the drive home!!

The pinstriping is not genuine though, it is just 5mm wide PVC trim tape like used on a car bodywork. It was coming off under the boiler.
Just a few pics of Elizabeth ll no 70 thrilling the happy throng!
