As most of you know, we tested a new aluminium rotary valve cover for the A4 at Peterborough. This test was successful.
Nick, Chris and I had a conversation regarding demand. We concluded that 42, orders in multiples of 7, with price reducing by volume, should be made. The original cost per unit estimate was approximately £10. A quick decision was needed yesterday as the tooling set up in the machine would have to be dismantled as other work was pending. We therefore placed the order for 42, plus of course the two test units. By doing this we made a further reduction in price to £7-15 per cover.
I appreciate that this is outside the process and apologise, but ask for your understanding taking into account the circumstances.

OK leave it with me
The Home Page looks great and Chris has done a very good job with it, but how many members check the news page on a regular basis?
I acknowledge that space is tight but at the moment there are two separate windows with the A4 specials. The large static one for the apple green A4s and the video one for experimental purple A4s. How about using the large static window for special announcements to draw the attention of our members to new products and after a month or so revert to a sales pitch window as at present. The apple green A4s need to be grouped in with the experimental purple A4s on the video with future new locos being added for long term maximum impact.
That's what the news page is supposed to be for.
I think we’re running out of space on the Home page. What we could do with is a rolling ‘news feed’ display to announce various new items. Don’t know if this is possible though.
Hi Nick, it looks good in the shop but I think we need to raise awareness of this new spare part. Could Chris put a banner on the Home Page to announce it's availability.
All covers received and now merchandised in the ools shop!
Excellent news, sometimes an on the spot decision has to be made to make progress.
