At long last we have moved into our new home in Exmouth! It has only taken nine months and an interim house move to complete this saga. We are now in possession of two houses, both in Exmouth. The interim one was bought because it was impossible to find a rented property suitable for housing our large, destructive and noisy parrot and we needed to move having sold our bungalow for a very advantageous price. The house we bought was chain free and allowed us to move quickly but it will need to be decorated and put up for sale in the spring to free up assets. As you can imagine we have a lot to do in the coming months and I am unable at this stage to plan for attending any exhibitions but hope to be joining you again before the summer.
I am obviously too late to wish you all a happy Christmas but instead I wish you all a very happy, healthy and active new year. Mike

Hello neighbour! I'd been worried about you. Sounds like you had as traumatic a move as we did.
Liz and I have now moved to Weston Super Mare and as I speak the old OOLS Roadshow (plus 12v) is set up in a shop unit (free) in Weston's premier Sovereign Shopping Centre but not open to thepublic at the moment.
We tested a week of opening with great results. 5 new members for my new local club (Burnham and District MRC) and 2 new members for OOLSC.
Mike do you fancy a few hours 'play' (the layout is still set up in the shop pending reopening shortly). It would be great to catch up. Bring a couple of locos. 07971 927726.
Yes a very warm welcome back Mike. We were all a little concerned about your silence.
Likewise Mike, very happy to hear from you and glad that you completed the migration process, Devon far prettier than Cornwall IMHO! Sounds like Snoopy is not so sure! Ha ha!! I am in your new area every September for two weeks hols so whatever happens and covid permitting, we will meet for a cream tea! Remember, itโs cream and then jam in Devon!! Ha ha!!! All the very best with the settling down..!
Good to hear from you again Mike. Also that the iconic parrot we have all heard about, is alive, well very noisy and taking to demolishing the wall paper. Sorry we missed that drink at the Lemon inn last summer. Your round next time we meet up. Hope you thoroughly enjoy Exmouth. Have a very Happy and Prosperous New Year. You will probably need it? ha ha ha Have a good one.
Not the initial reason. The house is as left by the previous owner who had moved in with her new partner and had lost interest in it's current condition. Although I should mention that Snoopy had been allowed to strip about a square meter of wallpaper over the two months staying there. As for replacing him, these parrots live a long time, Snoopy is now 43 years old and only about halfway through his natural life span. If we replaced him we would be back to year one and I don't think that I could endure living with the demands of a young, noisy and destructive newcomer. ๐
Likewise delighted to here from you and glad youโll soon be back with us. Sounds like you need a new parrot?
It's great to have you back in circulation Mike. Given everything that has been going on the radio silence was slightly worrying. ๐
Just a thought . . .is the large, destructive and noisy parrot the reason for the need to redecorate? ๐
