Hi all
I have just been catching up with the club forum and one item caught my eye. In a post 'Flying Scotsman bobyshell wanted', awinn6 said "During a running session at the local model railway club my LS Flying Scotsman ended up on the floor." How many local clubs have running tracks for LS. Should we try and get members to supply club addresses for a data base for use by our membership?

Noted to this point
That's why I am going to contact them. To see if they have running facilities for live steam.
My immediate suggestion Mike was just to create a database.
What we say to clubs is probably a matter for discussion although advising relevant ones of a forthcoming Roadshow in heir area is probably a no-brainer.
I will have a go at contacting the clubs in Cornwall and Devon. It will be interesting to see how many respond.
Contacting model railway clubs is a good idea Mike.
This website
http://www.modelrailwayclubs.co.uk/
lists model railway clubs by county and (just for example) the Tyne and Weir county shows 6 clubs and the email addresses are accessable plus telephone numbers.
It would be worth us creating a database and proactively contacting clubs perhaps starting with Tyne and Weir for the forthcoming roadshow.
I will volunteer to do this and (say) Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and compile a list of contacts.
There are other lists too including here but without email info

If other committee members were happy to pick up their local counties we could get a full database together quite quickly for a targeted campaign. An hour or 2 each?

Worth a post on the main site . It will be interesting to see if there is any response
