I would say good luck to Jack! I will be selling one of mine soon and I will make a lot more profit than £80!!! It will Not have any bearing on what the club charges but will reflect market forces. So long as we sell all our locos and make a reasonable margin then job done. Maurice set the president on pricing our sales on locos and it still works. If we tried to match or exceed ebay prices we would be stuck with a lot of locos. Also bear in mind jack can’t sell with a garuntee so although me made a few bob , any probs, and it’s on his neck. We have to make sure we shift our locos and not necessarily for the absolute top price. We are based on good value. There's a good reason Nigel know exacly what he is doing so I would not complain.

Adrian   Jack Prendergast bought two locos from the club in April 2023, a Mallard and Scotsman   He paid £495 for the Mallard and then nine months later he has sold it for what appears to be a profit of £80 . . . except we don’t know if it actually sold at that price or if he accepted a lower offer . . .   It looks like he also sold his Flying Scotsman as well for £745. As he paid the club £750 for it that was a loss of £5 Is he a ‘killer’ dealer making a fortune on our back . . . he kept the locos for nine months . . . check out his ‘other items’. . a set of discs for a car . . that’s it!   This year we have sold over 80 locos. From those sales one person has sold two locos that he bought from the club on EBay . . . for a profit of £75 or less . . .   He bought both locos from the club and from those sales we made a profit of £138.75   As just reported by Nigel this year loco sales have brought in a profit of £4,403 and after PAT testing next Monday will be making nearly double figures of locos available to members.     It is not Nigel’s policy to undercut EBay . . . currently we do not have a policy but we do have a way of calculating a fair price for members, both buying and selling.   Nigel is operating within the same ethos we have adopted since we began buying and selling locos. This is to provide a service for club members, not maximise profit on the open market.   As announced at the AGM we are about to present both the sales and the loco service policies on the forum so that these issues can be discussed so you can make your point there.

As discussed at the Midland Model Engineering Exhibition, the club will pick up the cost of the dinner, but not the drink, that will be down to individuals. As I have paid the deposit, I will pay the remainder of the bill and claim it back.

If you have a Coop store near you, they sell a antibacterial washing up liquid for 79 pence per bottle. You can use this as soap to clean your hands. I believe there is also a antibacterial Fairy Liquid.

I can confirm that Jenny Kirk and her spouse Zoe will be coming to see us at the summer meet at Cleckheaton. She will be there on Saturday sometime to have a play with our toys. No doubt a Vlog will be produced to good effect showing how things OO Live steam should be done so lets welcome them and keep them busy. I will bring my Mallard Set for her to fathom out as per the original idea.

On the upside,,,,if we introduce her to the club and ‘coach’ her through an initial novice run, much as is done at a show, and then go on to show her the right way and elaborate on the OOLS clubs efforts over the last 10 years or so, No Hornby Bashing allowed!! it will only be a good reference for OO live steam as a concept and she will enthuse about it, possibly raising the profile really well using her Online activities. She regularly communicates to 250-300 online enthusiasts every week and is excellent at promoting top model rail products. Nothing ventured , nothing gained!!!

Hello all sorry I’ve been quiet i know I’m not good at forum stuff but Nick in person informed me of this and I needed to disconnet for a while as I’ve been more upset then id imagine i would have been ….. I do agree that chis should claim expenses for this Maurice will always be missed and has been a great pleasure to have know for me and my family

Adrian hopefully I will have finished working out which chassis goes goes with which body and any associated bits well before the AGM. I am away for a midweek break at Centre Parcs next week but will soon make some progress once I get back. There are six complete locos (one of which has just been sold) and thirteen and a half chassis, body and bits combinations. Once chassis, bodies & bit have been reunited they will be added to the Maurice Rourke Legacy spreadsheet. Eric and I have has agreed to service & rebuild half each. Although still up for discussion it seems sensible that some are used to replace current 'problematic' Roadshow locos (to allow the not so good ones to be broken up for parts) and some sold to raise money to support the club. Once everything has been listed we can then have the discussion about how best to utilise them.
