I sought advice and since we use the Brother system for postage printing, it made sense to use something already in house. As we are a small concern we don’t need to worry about integrating with outside forces so Code128 is perfect for the use intended. Zettle was the original POS system designed for mobile devices and ease of use https://www.zettle.com/gb/about-us We have embraced the technology and the benefits to the club are clear. Lower fees on sales than PayPal. Better software. Faster slicker transactions. Even the coffee at shows has its own barcode!!!! I will offer you a demonstration but it will cots you !!00

Yes, Mr Hornby has reached the end of the road and is retiring from Hornby (again!!) Any takers for the job, the current CEO is a former Paperchase (now defunct) CEO so things are looking up or maybe not. Will the current team have what it takes to carry the company on?? Montana Hoeren Head of Hornby Brand, has been pencilled in as the newcomer but can she do it? She has a good knowledge of the brand and has brought good ideas forward but is she right for the post vacated by Simon. We shall wait with a mug of tea!!!00

- John Humphrys RIPIn General Discussion17 October 2022For once I was on the ball and sent this email to Hornby after John Vizor first posted . . . but I was not quite on the ball about posting here! Andy OO Live Steam Club member John Vizor has posted an email reply from Andy Walker on the OO Live Steam Club forum to inform members about the sad passing of John Humphrys and the impact this has had on Hornby Live Steam support. In the email Andy writes ‘I am sorry to have to say that, sadly now, we have to officially "call time" on our ability to help with Live Steam and that I hope that you are able to find somebody else to be able to assist. Around 12 months ago John discussed with the OOLS Club chairman Maurice Rourke both the reduced level of support available from Hornby and the future need for continued support for these locos and as a result the club devised and launched the OOLS Service and Repair Scheme and over the last year we have been contacted by a number of people who have been referred to the club by Hornby and I assume that may will have been John passing on our contact details. We would be happy for Hornby’s support department to refer any Live Steam support queries to the club using service@oolivesteam.com and would also be happy if you wanted to share that information with your past customers via your website. Andy also reference the ‘almost negligible remaining spares’ and it you do still have some the OOLS club would be interested in acquiring them.
