- CoronavirusIn General Discussion17 March 2020London festival has been cancelled. The correct decision was made by us in good time.00
- CoronavirusIn General Discussion24 March 2020PlanesTV has tested a live broadcast to try and entertain and (potentially) get money from our market to replace the summer airshows that will not now happen (and potentially close us down). https://www.facebook.com/planestv/videos/414598436067852/ This might be an idea for the club - a bit like our summer meet but online but every week at a specific time. It ought to be possible for each of us with a layout to host a weekly event. Any thoughts anyone00
- Parts Sold For Member Use OnlyIn General Discussion22 February 2021I have no intention of selling water. I just think that to have a very advantageous price of £6 per litre (equivalent on ebay is £8.99/£9.99) and hide that price behind a requirement to join our Club is crazy. At the very least put a strong 'advert' on our homepage saying "£6 per litre for members" Good news about James. I look forward to seeing the detail.00
- Loco Sales 2019/2020In General Discussion7 April 2020Good to see somebody 's still making a bit of brass in these dodgy days. Could Corona Virus see the beginning of a resurgence in model railways.? Would be a wonderful opportunity to develop the next generation of OOLive Steam. Or O gauge for that matter. Take care of yourselves everybody.00

- Withdrawing Supply from a MemberIn General Discussion19 February 2021Oh dear, I thought that this might happen eventually I just hope that this is the first time that someone has chosen to exploit the good nature of our club. When I originally introduced the idea of membership fees together with the discount on sales being tied to the length of membership it was to try and control, to some extent, the chance of this happening. To reduce the 'quick buck' syndrome. Whatever this individual does from now on doesn't change the fact that he was willing to exploit other peoples endeavours for his own benefit without regard for the effects of his actions. A person that we would have to watch carefully in the future. Maybe we need to place a statement on the front of our website that states that the profit from sales is what allows us to run the club without fees, to design and produce the spares and to run the Roadshow as a club layout around the country.00

- Parts Sold For Member Use OnlyIn General Discussion21 February 2021We don’t have a public shop side,,, only members can enter the shop and buy parts. All our OOLS parts and supplies are not affected as they are easily replenishable. I don’t think we can ultimately stop any one selling on their own items for their own needs and wants. Its up to the buyer to be wise and realise when a deal is not a good deal!! When James Reading cant move on any of his items because his prices are too high he will realise his error. We have a good membership of over 1200 so we don’t need to worry. I do think we need to offer a buy back scheme though to spread the butter a bit more thinly !!!00
