- Hornby Spares NegotiationIn General Discussion8 October 2023Relevant extracts from the OOLS WhatsApp group To ensure that we have a trackable record I have extracted these relevant posts from the WhatsApp discussion Hi everyone. I was in Canterbury yesterday and took the opportunity to make my acquaintance with Sam Covington and associates at Hornby. I’ve visited the Hersden dept. on a number of past occasions when John Humphrey’s was alive. I viewed the available spares and I will post up the photos. Lots of bits and pieces. Some pretty useful to have. Not a lot in the new dept. You probably won’t need a palette the boxes although fairly heavy will stack in a 5 cwt van no probs. Charles. The loaded palette measures approx. 1.2m X 1.1m x 500 mm ht. Hope that helps. I shall shortly be putting a write up on the website. In respect of the Hornby spares. I would say the deal is pretty well sealed and I would hazard a guess at No Charge. Posted by Nick Nice work Charles! Don’t need the pallets obviously so do you think the boxes would all fit my Bentley estate! LOL Posted by Charles Hi Nick. I think they would stack up ok. There’s a couple of partly dismantled Papyrus that I could see, all the rest seems to be Mallards and FS Certainly no GFs or SLs apparent. The tenders all appeared to be Mallard & FS. I didn’t spend a great deal of time trying to list everything but it was great cementing the relationship between the OOLS and the Hornby guys. As Charles has already made contact with Sam Coventon logically we should now leave the collection of the spares from Hornby to be organised by Charles and Nick as soon as possible. I will start a seperate discussion (including the photos provided by Charles) so committee members can discuss the options on how we should make use of the parts.00

- Unfounded AccusationsIn General Discussion25 October 2023Remarkablable . You have learnt your lessons from past experience, incredibly well Every i dotted. exceptional. Only problem is . The really important bit.??? To anyone reading this , mainly our club comnittee, it all sounds so incredibly slick. No doubt. Every question answered and backed up to the hilt by the status quo in sphere 2 of our supposed club. Problem is. For you Chris. Is the remarkable (somewhat mystical monetary figures ) you have mystically Cunjured up. ones things for sure. On those figures we probably Owe the inland revenue a tax liability. Which if owed will fall on all of the us in the committee and the wider membership. go on wise guy\. you seem to have the answer to everything. Only, it will be . Its not my fault Guv.00

- Hornby Spares NegotiationIn General Discussion2 October 2023Just to add that the timing MUST suit the Hornby team - it was their suggestion of 6-10 November.0
- Are we missing an opportunity? In General Discussion25 May 2023Pay attention Bond!!!! Every time we have ordered a new batch of live drives (30) a note is put on file. We are currently awaiting our next consignment from DPC Micro. As shop Manager i am very happy with our current modus operandi. Please remember we supply our bespoke items to CLUB MEMBERS only and not general public. Therefore our pricing, packaging, distribution channels work very well indeed. I have a constant demand for our Live-drives from around the world!!! I have sent around 10 to Austrailia over the years!! I think your ‘Marketing‘ urge is running a little amok along with the fact that you apparently don’t know what is shipping out on a regular basis from the club shop. The sales reports are updated monthly by Eric and myself and made available for viewing by Chris. Be assured we have all of the club interests at the centre of all decision making And yes, the club shop has brought in a nice windfall since I launched it! £8-10K turnover x 8 or so years. You do the maths.0
